Ms. Esther Mbambu- Nya Azida, the woman who suffered a brutal amputation at the hands of her husband in March this year in Kyakasojo lower cell, Kasese Municipality is gradually recovering from her injuries.
In an interview with Kasese Guide Radio this morning from Kiruli village, Maliba sub-county in Kasese district, Mbambu said she is making progress after having started walking again, although she’s still experiencing some pain due to the wounds on her head.
Mbambu is now appealing to her well-wishers for continued support, specifically requesting assistance in accessing a trained neurological surgeon and acquiring artificial limbs to aid in her ongoing recovery.
Mbambu’s face lit up with joy when Bishop Nason Baluku of the South Rwenzori Diocese visited her in Kiruli village, bringing a surprise delivery of merchandise parked on a fuso truck.
The bishop’s generous gesture aims to empower Mbambu-Nya-Azida to start a shop at Kiruli Trading Centre.
Bishop Nason,s generosity did not stop there he also delivered a refrigerator to Nya-Azida and revealed that he’s already paid two years’ worth of rent for her new shop.
The prelate explained that he would also arrange for her to receive artificial limbs, demonstrating his commitment to supporting her recovery and new beginnings.
