By KGR Reporter,
Bishop Robert Muhiirwa of Fort Portal Diocese has asked Christians to emulate the example of the Holy Ugandan Marty’s as pilgrims of hope; with firm faith in decent family life and chastity in the wake of chronic illnesses and substance abuse and technologies shadow of evil.
He was delivering a homily to thousands of pilgrims who thronged yesterday at the birth place of St. Andrea Kaahwa (Kaggwa) in Kooki Haibaale, Kakumiro District which is marked annually on May 26th.
Bishop Muhiirwa asked the youth to be inspired by the faith of Martyrs like Charles Lwanga who was exemplary in instructing the youth to stand firm in their faith and living decent lives.
He castigated complacent lifestyles like copying exams and alcoholism which might lead them to further moral degeneration; prostitution and drug abuse.
Bishop Muhiirwa encouraged the young people to enroll in spiritual movements such as “Young Christians Students Association (YCS), Xverian and Pioneers Movement to help them be nurtured into responsible citizens with a firm faith to repel homosexuality, lesbianism and transgender agendas. This pilgrimage at Kooki attracted pilgrims from the entire Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province and was marked on the theme, “Pilgrims of Hope” and animated by Muhorro Catholic Parish, Kagadi Vicariate in a Pontifical Mass that was led by the ordinary of Hoima, Vincent Kirabo Amooti.
