The Ordinary of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has called on the Judiciary to empower the Government with knowledge to sensitize the community about land conflict management in the country.
Bishop Kibira said currently families and societies are insecure following conflicts associated with land wrangles especially those inherited by individuals.
He made the statement during a courtesy call to the leaders of Justice and Peace commission at Parish and Diocesan level during their induction held at the Bishop Hall in Kasese town.
He said the country was sitting on a timing bomb following the increasing cases of human rights violation, including murder cases, and land conflicts. Bishop Kibira speaking ……

A facilitator from the Uganda Episcopal Conference, Counsel Fredrick Ssemwanga encouraged the team to work towards organizing mediation and dialogue as the best way of resolving conflicts as the church work on strengthening structures.
The meeting was attended by Justice and peace community leaders at parish and diocesan level. END
