The Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale, yesterday officially announced plans to carve St. Adolf Kigoro Sub-Parish currently under Kasese Cathedral Parish into a new parish within the Diocese of Kasese.
The newly proposed parish, now officially referred to as Kigoro Proposed Parish, will become the 16th parish in the Diocese of Kasese including two Pastoral Centers and a Shrine.

The new parish is expected to comprise four sub-parishes currently under the mother parish: Rukoki, Karambi, Kigoro, and Buhaghura.
The announcement was made in response to a formal request from Mr. Augustine Muthabalhi, the Head of Laity at Kasese Cathedral Parish.

Hon. Lakisis Adolf Ategeka, the Nyamwamba Division District Councillor, announced that the parish had received 300 iron sheets from the Office of the Prime Minister.
