The Bishop of Madi and West Nile Diocese Rt. Rev. Charles Collins Andaku has called the Christians and the public in West Nile to repent over the high poverty levels in the sub region.
While delivering his New Year message at Emmanuel Cathedral Mvara last evening, Andaku stressed that it’s a big shame that West Nile region is second after Karamoja region in terms of high poverty burden in the country.
He pointed out that laziness is the main driver of the high poverty levels in the sub region something he advised the public to desist from in the coming new year. Bishop Andaku on poverty….
The Bishop further said that the in the coming year, the diocese will focus on ensuring, the churches and the institutions develop income generating enterprises as a strategy for development.

He said they intend to promote commercial agriculture among the Christians as a vehicle to move them out of poverty.END.
