A section of Cultivators in Bigando Parish, Kitswamba Sub-County in Kasese District have threatened to storm the office of the Kasese Resident District Commissioner (RDC), protesting the lack of compensation for food crops allegedly destroyed by elephants straying from Kibaale National Park.

Mr. Semu Mulimba, the Chairperson of Farmers in Bigando Parish, concurred with Mr. Munyambara, stating that residents are planning to march to the office of the President’s representative in Kasese on Friday to express their dissatisfaction after numerous unheeded pleas for action.
Ms. Zepherona Nyarwaza, Ms. Nerveless Biira, and Ms. Grace Kemeyondo, local farmers who claim to have acquired agricultural loans expressed uncertainty about their ability to repay the loans due to the destruction of their crops by the elephants.
