Mr. Girivazio Monday Bwambale, the Kasese district secretary for social services has called for regulated fish farming without which, the fish ponds along the deadly Nyamwamba river will keep fueling the river floods in Kasese Municipality.
Addressing a stakeholders’ meeting organized by Community Aged Foundation-CAFO held at Verina gardens in Kasese Municipality yesterday, Hon. Girivazio who warned the community against mere lamentations and repeated requests for help, asked community members to be part of the solutions against seasonal floods by being conscious of their activities along the river banks.
He called for the direct interventions of the concerned local community members, the Kasese Municipal town clerk and the Mayor against the unregulated fish ponds and irrigation activities along the deadly river Nyamwamba or else, the local population will always be at a loss mainly during the wet seasons.
