Traffic police in Kasese district have embarked on engagements with Boda-boda riders with an aim of sensitizing them about the required guidelines and compliance while executing their duties.
SP George Onono, the Rwenzori East Regional traffic officer said it was only through compliance that can neutralize the increasing cases of road carnage.
Speaking to media shortly after meeting stage masters at Kasese Division police yesterday, SP Onon said his office like elsewhere in Uganda, will continue with the operation against non-compliance to traffic guidelines by riders and drivers so as to make the roads safe for users. Mr. Alfred Kambasu, Mr. Mubaraka Muchunguzi like other commercial riders asked traffic officers to handle them humanly, wondering why an officer should slap a rider who tries to defend himself over an offence.
