Kasese Division Police has recovered in one of the stores in Kasese Municipality an assortment of suspected stolen electric wires, Kasese guide radio has learnt.
The recovery of the electric wires follows a number of traps guided by specialized security intelligence officers following repeated cases of vandalism on yet to be lit electric power lines, among them, the Kahokya –Kinyateke and the Rukoki-Kihara power projects.
Whereas the Kasese Division Police Commander, ASP Wilfred Bagenda referred our reporter to the forces Spokesperson for a comment, he led the forces to a scrap store near Unique Primary school at the Kasese main roundabout in Kasese Municipality where 4 rolls of the 0.5 inch low voltage industrial wires were recovered.
Mr. Geoffrey Nuwagaba, the operations Manager at Karago Construction Company working on the Rukoki-Kihara power line said that whereas the recovered electric cables were not his type, he commends police for her investigative efforts he said need to be supported by the local community if the ongoing constriction works they were handling was to bear fruits.
