As the Christmas preparations hit up, public transport fares have increased, a mini survey by Kasese guide radio has revealed.
Mr. James Busingye, the Link bus Manager confirmed to Kasese guide radio that transport fares would increase today, with those commuting from Kampala to Fort-portal and Kasese, paying fifty and sixty thousand respectively.
Previously, passengers by bus from Kampala to Kasese have been paying between 35,000 and 45,000 thousand shillings.

The Kasese tax park manager, Mr. James Keyman who announced mandatory checks to passengers` luggage also confirmed that transport fares had increased, with Kasese-Mbarara passengers switched to 30,000 shillings, 25000 shillings to Kabwohe but Kasese-Bwera still stable at 10,000 shillings. Speaking to our reporter, Mr. Nelson Baluku, a senior driver at Kasese-Bwera was worried that with the increasing fuel prices, the fares were likely to increase the more. END
