Arts teachers in Kasese district have taken a stand to lay down their tools starting June 06th until their salary demands are met.
The decision was announced yesterday by the Coordinator Uganda Professional humanities Teachers Union-Kasese branch, Mr. Johnson Muhindo, while addressing the media at Central Division headquarters in Kasese town.
They are calling on the government to reconsider the salary enhancement plan and ensure it is reflected in the 2025/2026 financial year.
The teachers feel they are being discriminated against their science counterparts and are demanding fair pay for their hard work and dedication. Mr. Johnson speaking….
He urged teachers through UPTHU, to withdraw from classroom duties starting June 6. 2025, in protest over the government continued neglect in enhancing their salaries. END.
