Learning in schools in Uganda may be paralyzed again as arts teachers mainly protest what they call discriminatory salary enhancement promoted against them by government, Kasese guide radio can reliably report.
In his recent State of the nation address, President Museveni said whereas all teachers were equally important in the education sector, the plight for salary increment by science teachers would be a priority to cement plans for science teaching in schools.
In a press release dated 11th June 2022 and signed by their General Secretary, Mr. Filbert Bates Baguma, no teachers should be in class tomorrow until what they call the government mess is streamlined.
Mr. Joshua Bwambale, the chairperson for Uganda national teachers` union in Kasese described as a mockery for government to consider for salary increment only science teachers who are to pocket between three to four million shillings each month in salaries.
