    Another victim has died following recent fire at Mpondwe customs border

    A second victim of the recent fire at Mpondwe customs border post in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council in Kasese district, has died.

    Speaking to Kasese guide radio last evening, Mr. Selevest Mapoze, the Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council local council three chairperson confirmed the death at Kagando hospital of now late Scovia Sibirwa, a daughter to one Mr. Bumali.

    According Mr. Mapoze, it all happened as the deceased, a former food vendor was serving her customers, some of who are servants at the COVID-19 and Ebola testing center at the border when the deadly track lost control, knocking the hipped alleged acid containers that scolded the late Scovia. Mr. Mapoze speaking1……….

    Mr. Mapoze described the incident as regrettable and total loss now that nobody will claim the truck he knows had claimed lives and destroyed property, including the COVID-19 testing scanner belonging to the Ministry of Health. Mr. Mapoze speaking2…………

    He calls for a firefighting equipment at the border post now that fire incident are many as a result of the busy are and variety of businesses across the border. Mr. Mapoze three ……..

    In a recent interview after the incident, the Kasese District Health Officer, Dr. Yusufu Baseke said about two billion shillings had been lost over the destroyed testing center that also housed the screening machines for COVID-19 and Ebola. END
