By KGR Reporter,
North Karamoja Diocese and All Saints Diocese Nairobi are set to open a Peace Desk in Turkana near the Uganda-Kenyan Border.
The office will help work in peace-building, conflict resolution, and transformation, and provide psychosocial support to the two neighboring communities of Karimojong and Turkana who have gone through distress as a result of raids.
It is also expected to support the two dioceses in consolidating the existing peace in Karamoja and neighbouring Turkana.
The two communities have had historic gun violence and cattle thefts leading to retaliation or at worse killings.
This was confirmed by the Bishop of North Karamoja Diocese, Rt. Rev. Simon Akol Aisu during the ordination of ordinand Paul Jelinga Nakwon who has been immediately assigned to the mission.
Bishop Akol speaking….
Ordinand Jelinga Nakwon is a native Turkana trained by All Saints Diocese Nairobi. END.
