Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate, Patrick Amuriat has suspended campaign activities after two of his supporters died in a car accident in Pakwach District.
The accident which left more than 10 other people seriously injured happened yesterday afternoon when the driver of a truck that was transporting Amuriat’s public address system failed to negotiate a corner and lost control before overturning at Ganda village, Panyimur town council, Pakwach District.
The injured have been admitted to Angal hospital in Nebbi District. Mr. Amuriat was heading to Panyimur town council for a rally which he says he has cancelled.
The residents reported that the spot is prone to car accidents saying in October 2008, four traders from Koboko district died on their way to Panyimur market at the same spot.
In May 2011, 17 traders died at the same spot as their headed to Koboko district. ENDS
