The Government of Uganda has donated a block making machine to Allied Democratic Forces reporters in Rwenzori sub-region as an intervention in their income generation and poverty alleviation plans.
Handing over the unit at a function held in Verina gardens in Kasese Municipality this afternoon, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner, commended the government of Uganda for donating the South African manufactured modern brick making machine he asked the beneficiaries to put to good use to improve their incomes. Hon. Karim Baluku Kisembo, the district secretary for works and technical services, revealed that the district had donated five acres of land in Rukoki to house the project; asking the beneficiaries to be appreciative to government and remain united to protect the project.

Earlier, Hon. Henry Basaliza Araali, the Demobilization and Rehabilitation team leader for Amnesty Commission in Kasese who said the machine has the capacity to produce 5,000 bricks daily, warned the administration of ADF returnees against tribalism, favoritism and extortion from the project beneficiaries, most of whom hail from Kasese, Bunyangabu, Ntoroko and Bundibugyo.
