Rights watchdog Amnesty International has called on Ethiopian authorities to launch an “impartial” investigation into last month’s killing of more than 400 members of an ethnic group that is a minority in the country’s Oromia region.
The killings showed the attackers’ “utter disregard for human life”, a new report by the organization released today says.
The killing has been blamed on the armed group the Oromo Liberation Army but authorities have also been criticized for failing to respond fast enough to the violence. END
