Mr. Erias Byamungu, the Chief Administrative Officer for Kasese district has revealed closure of revenue accounts of all sub-counties and town councils by this month ending.
He said closing these accounts will pave way for the implementation of the new tax collection system IRAS–Integrated Revenue Administrative System.
The Integrated Revenue System is an online and mobile application platform that enables local governments and cities to collect revenue through registration, assessment and billing, payment awareness raising for tax payers, and connecting residents to local governments.
The development was made yesterday while giving his opening remarks at the district budget conference for FY 2024/25 held at district multi-purpose hall in Kasese Municipality.
