Mr. Kikusa Mustafa, the Principal Assistant Secretary to the Kasese District Chief Administrative Officer, has called for proper record keeping by civil servants for future reference.
Officiating at the closure of a one day training for Disaster Committees at sub-county and Village levels on climate change organized by Kiima foods held at TJ Global Hotel in Kasese Municipality yesterday, Mr. Kikusa directed that a file on disasters must be one of the checklists during handovers by town clerks and subcounty chiefs for purposes of continuity by their predecessors.
He was concerned that whereas there has been repeated incidents of disasters in many areas in Kasese, some town clerks and subcounty chiefs cannot account for any records. Mr. Kikusa speaking……
Mr. Gideon Kipura, a Volunteer with Uganda Red cross who commended Kiima foods for donating disaster equipment to some sub-counties, called for thorough detection, analysis and timely warnings about disasters to save lives and property. Mr. Kipura speaking……
Mr. Elias Asiimwe, the Monitoring officer from Kiima foods- Nature based solutions, asked the Parish Disaster Committees to detect and make timely warnings and disaster messages in collaboration with government and her development partners in the fight against global warming. END.
