Airtel Uganda yesterday(31st.August.2021) donated two mobile ultrasound scans toNyamirami and Rukoki health centre IVs in Kasese District to enhance Safe motherhood.
This comes shortly after the commissioning of three mast sites and the launch of an Airtel Money Branch all in Kasese District.
While speaking to Kasese Guide Radio, Mr. Brenden Kachenje the sales and distribution director for growth markets in airtel Communication Company said the donation was part of their social responsibility as well reducing pregnancy related deaths in Uganda and Kasese in particular.

The deputy RDC for Kasese district Mr. Joshua Masereka who welcomed the donation appreciated airtel Uganda before he revealed that it was paramount for the ultra sound scans to be installed at health centres in hilly areas something he said will relieve mothers from walking long distances to search for the improved health services.

The other items in the donation consignment include; mama kits, gloves and face masks.
Some of the beneficiaries including Rose Biira at Nyamirami health centre who appreciated airtel for the timely donation said they will get relived from some health challenges but quickly reported a challenge of scarcity of water at the health facility. Ms Rose speaking….
The masts that were commissioned at three sites includes that of Kikorongo, Kambeho and Kyanjuki which will boost the network connectivity in the region. ENDS
