Agricultural students at Rwenzori High School in Kasese District have called for political interventions for easy access to mushroom spawns and a hybrid seed multiplication center to improve crop production in the district.
Nelson Mbusa and Danson Lyahinda, both senior six agriculture students at Rwenzori High School said whereas their teachers had done enough in teaching practical agriculture at the school, accessibility to mush room spawns and a variety of seeds were big challenges to them now that the same inputs are imported into the Kasese district from far away district. The duo told Kasese Guide Radio over the weekend that the new curriculum introduced in the lower secondary school, was timely to tackle the gaps caused by the old theoretical teaching approaches in Uganda. END
