Mr. Asanairi Bukanywa, the Kasese municipal agricultural officer has repeated his earlier call that asks the local community to promote mushroom agriculture for both domestic and commercial benefits.
Speaking to our reporter in Kasese over the week, Mr. Bukanywa said other than improving the community members’ diet, mushrooms were medicinal.
He also reminded the locals that urban mushroom agriculture does not require too much space and that his office was ready to guide on this for the good of the community. Mr. Bukanywa speaking…..
According to Mr. Bukanywa, fungi culture is done under a shade using crashed materials such as maize cobs, coffee and groundnut husks packed in small portions using polythene bags. END
