Amazing Friends for Development Association-AFRIDA has donated thirty mattresses to Bwera Hospital in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, Kasese district.
The Hospital which offers free medical services, also has an overwhelming number of pregnant women seeking antenatal services and to this effect the mattresses will boost the maternity ward and emergency unit.
The mattresses were delivered yesterday by AFRIDA members and received by the Hospital Administrator Mr. Clarence Mumbahya.
Mr.Yohayadi Ndungu Mubatsi, the General Secretary AFRIDA, the team leader, said Bwera Hospital was chosen to receive the donation because over sixty percent members in the association are from Bukonzo County west, therefore it was one way of rewarding the local community for active participation.
Mubatsi revealed that AFRIDA also does Advocacy, Savings and Credit Association and they are planning to establish an investment scheme to boost the member’s financially. Mr. Mubatsi speaking…
Mr. Clarence Mumbahya, the Hospital Administrator commended AFRIDA for the timely donation at a critical time the hospital needed Fifty two mattresses, appealing to AFRIDA to further support the emergency unit with, a wheel chair and patient screens among others.

Dr.Centenary Baluku, the Assistant Medical Supretendant, asked AFRIDA to organize a Medical camp at Bwera Hospital to screen non communicable disaeses and HIV among others.
