The North Buganda Field Adventist Bishop has asked the Luwero District Service Commission to stop soliciting bribes from job seekers.
Luwero District Service Commission is on the spot over alleged corruption while recruiting civil servants for various jobs.
According to several reports, new applicants are asked between 1-5 million shillings to get jobs whereas others seeking promotions in the service part with over 10 million shillings.
While presiding over a special service for the Luwero District Staff and leaders at the district headquarters yesterday, Pastor David Ssemogerere, said that he was concerned over pubic outcry that no person can be offered a job without paying a bribe.
Ssemogerere told the staff that soliciting bribes is an abuse of office and against God’s will who entrusted them with those jobs.
Ssemogerere asked the staff of the Service Commission who have been asking for bribes to repent and stop asking the bribes.
