People living with disabilities have asked human resource managers to put in place measures supporting their employment.
According to Ms. Sylvia Biira, the secretary KADIWOD, if human resource managers in both the private and public sectors give people with special needs a modified work schedule, they can do the best to meet the expectation of their employers.
To promote the productivity of Pwds, Sylvia advised employers to stop stigmatizing Pwds by declining to offer them an opportunity after noticing different kinds of disabilities.
Ms. Sylvia asked community development officers and parish chiefs to consider PWDs on the parish development model funds, saying most of them have been left out in Kasese district. Ms. Sylvia speaking….
She made the remarks yesterday during the closure of a breakfast meeting for Gender Based Violence held at the mayor’s board room in Kasese Municipality.
Ms.Scovia Mwerya, the program team leader ADD international, the donors of GBV program in Uganda said the objective of the meeting was to announce closure of the two years project, share experiences and set out sustainability plan.
Ms. Scovia, said Kasese district stands the best in Uganda in coordination and dissemination of information about GBV among persons living with disabilities. Ms. Scovia speaking….
