A 30-year-old man died on the spot following a tragic accident at Lyamubuzi Trading Centre along the Kasese–Mbarara highway.
According to SP Nelson Tumusime, the Rwenzori East Region Police spokesperson, the deceased has been identified as Eria Thembo.
The fatal hit-and-run incident occurred at around 11:00 AM and involved a motorcycle with registration number UGH 490F Haojue and a yet-to-be-identified speeding trailer.
SP Tumusime urged all road users, particularly motorcyclists, to observe traffic rules and regulations and to exercise discipline while on the road.
