The Rwenzururu Kingdom is yet to receive today about one hundred thirty two suspects of the 2016 Obuhikira palace attack after they were released yesterday(08th.January.2021).
No official formal statements yet from the Rwenzururu Kingdom leadership though the institutional Prime Minister had told this radio last evening that they were in court in Kampala finalizing the court process.
Speaking to Kasese Guide radio this morning, the Kasese Municipal Mayor, His Worship Godfrey Kabyanga confirmed the development but declined to commit himself about the numbers released since the original plan was to have 147 people out of the hook.
Mr. Kabyanga who said he said the former suspects had set off from Kampala by 6am today were to be in Kasese this afternoon.
According to the Mayor, the released suspects would have been here but the delay was course by the judicial process. Last week, the Kasese district FDC chairperson betted if the suspects would be released now that President Museveni was silent about the matter when he was in the district for his political campaign.
