Uganda’s female marathoner, Ms Rebecca Cheptegei and her boyfriend Nickson Marangach are battling for their lives at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital following a domestic dispute that escalated into a petrol attack.
Selesio Murithi, the Uasin Gishu County Deputy Commander, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are underway over the 2pm Sunday incident.
Mr. Marangach allegedly entered Ms Cheptegei’s compound armed with petrol, poured it on her, and ignited it but the flames also backfired onto him, as his clothes were also soaked in petrol. END
