A 40-year-old man was pronounced dead today at Kasese Municipal Health Centre III in Kasese Town after allegedly falling into a deep gully in Katadoba Cell, Kasese Municipality.

The Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumusiime, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Robert Muhindo, a mason and resident of Katadoba cell, but born from Nyabutundu Cell in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town Council.
According to Mr. Augustine Mugisa, who had been living with the deceased, Robert left home yesterday at around 6:00 PM but never returned.

Mzee Isaac Muhindo, the biological father of the deceased and a resident of Nyabutundu Cell in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, attributed his son’s death to the government’s failure to construct a permanent arch bridge over the Kihalhimu-Kyaminyoku water channel.
