Ms. Stella Kongo, the programs director Luigi Giussan Foundation has revealed that 85% of pupils in rural schools in Kasese district cannot spell or read.
Stella said this yesterday while disseminating the household based assessment report 2022 about the learning culture in rural schools in Kasese district conducted by UWEZO Uganda in Collaboration with Luigi Giussan Foundation and Kasese district association of persons living with disabilities, held at Kasese Multipurpose hall.
Ms. Stella said the assessment was done in the households and focucing on youths in and outside rural schools between the ages of 13-17 respectively.
