Cabinet has approved 579 boda Boda stages in Kampala as full operations for Boda-Bodas resume today(27 July 2020).
The stages are spread through the five divisions of Kampala with central division having 32 stages, Kawempe 89, Makindye 136, Nakawa 146 and Rubaga division 179 stages.
According to Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA all Boda Boda operators must be registered at any of the gazetted stages and this shall be their address to enable contact tracing in case of any COVID-19 infection.
As they resume operations tomorrow, Boda-Bodas are only required to abide by the standard operating procedures of having a helmet and mask, registering passengers and sanitizing passengers and the seat each time they get a passenger.
In Kasese district, the commercial riders` chairman, Mr. Ahamed Ali Amin who described President Museveni as a responsible and caring parents especially during this time of the virus threat emphasized the need for his boda-boda riders to fulfill the Standard Operation Procedures as they resume work tomorrow or else the law will reign on them.
