Five family heads including a mother are reportedly in police custody in Bulembia Division in Kasese Municipality for failure to own pit-latrines at their homes.
According to the Mpunga Sub County Health Assistant, Mr. Fred Muhindo Kamende, Ms Biira Brenda and Kule Benard from Bunyakalija, as well as Mr. Baluku Zephanus, Mr. Joel Mugisa and Mr. Gideon Kaikubulha all from Katiri hills in Mbunga Sub County were arrested in an operation this morning following a report by the VHT personnel and several community meetings about the deteriorating sanitation largely caused by the low pit-latrine coverage that could easily result into a disease outbreak in Mbunga subcounty.
