Over 400 priests have attended the celebration of the Chrism Mass of the Holy Wednesday liturgy at our Lady of Perpetual Help Nyamitanga as the Archdiocese of Mbarara Archbishop His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha asked for more priests.
The Priests were drawn from different congregations of, Comboni Missionaries, Franciscans Friars Minor, Missionaries of Africa, Montfort Missionaries, Apostles of Jesus, Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga and Blessed Sacrament Fathers among others.
The Archbishop said in the Mass they were also praying for the priests who had died, noting that the Church needed more priests to preach the Gospel.
During the Chrism Mass led by the Archbishop, all the priests renewed their priestly vows, in unity with the Archbishop, His Grace Bainomugisha who said priests were anointed by the Lord and then sent to reach out and serve despite the distance.
He urged them to persevere through all life’s circumstances at work, as the Lord who sent them has covered them with His grace. END
