The Chief Magistrate’s Court at Kasese has denied a court bail application and sent back on remand till June 29. 2024, a 38-year-old woman accused of torturing a step daughter in Kidodo cell in Kasese Municipality.
Court presided over by the Kasese Chief Magistrate, Her Worship Betty Ajok heard that on 30th October 2023 while in Kidodo cell in Kasese Municipality, the accused reportedly tortured and broke the legs and arms of the nine-year-old primary two Pupil who is a daughter to her co-wife.
Her Worship Ajok ruled that whereas Ms. Norah Kansiime, the accused has a right to court bail, her temporary release would jeopardize the ongoing investigations and prosecution processes.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after Court, the victim’s teary mother, Ms. Sarah Nabanja, a resident of Kahendero landing site in Muhokya town council, could not believe that a sensible woman like the accused who reportedly used electric cables and other hard objects to beat the victim, would not sympathize with the innocent child.

Mr. Shariff Godfrey Masereka, the local council one chairperson for Kidodo cell in Kasese Municipality prayed for justice so as the punishment to the accused acts as a lesson to those he described as beasts in human skins. Mr. Sharifu speaking………
Meanwhile, permanent High Court has opened at Kasese with Justice David Makumbi hearing three cases today.
According to our reporter, all High Court cases that were being handled at Fort-portal City court have reportedly been transferred to Kasese High court. END.
