Three hundred learners at Bwesumbu Seventh Day Primary school in Bwesumbu subcounty in Kasese district share three desks, Kasese Guide Radio has learnt.
Addressing the learners’ welfare before Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese District local council five chairperson during a community dialogue in the area yesterday, Mr. Edson Basalya, the local council one chairperson for Kyabulera village in Bwesumbu sub county, called for urgent interventions that would see the school supplied with desks to facilitate the learning process.
In a similar manner, Ms Joy Kabugho, the head teacher for Kasangali SDA primary school, said lack of enough seats and understaffing were some of the dare challenges at her school.

In his speech, Mr. Robinson Maliro, the subcounty vice chairperson local council three commended the district leadership for her recent efforts on more staff deployment to schools in the area before asking the district executive for female teachers to address concerns from female learners. Responding to the concerns, Mr. Eriphaz Muhindi who pledged more civil service opportunities for qualified mountainous women, revealed that schools with sitting challenges, would benefit now that his office would soon procure class room desks. Mr. Muhindi speaking……
