    25-year-old man arrested for alleged impersonation.

    The Police in Kitgum has arrested a 25-year-old man over allegations of impersonation.

    The suspect, identified as Brian Omara alias Vincent Onyang was arrested while drunk and donning full military uniform in Kitgum Municipality on Tuesday.

    The fifth Infantry Division Spokesperson, Lt Hassan Kato says that the suspect’s arrest follows complaints received from the community and that investigations indicate the suspect currently in detention was behind the robbery of military uniform from a serving UPDF officer Private Godfrey Onyang in November last year.     Robert Oken, the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigation at Kitgum Central Police Station says the suspect faces two counts of illegal possession of government stores and impersonation.

    Under Section 381 and 382 of the Ugandan Penal Code Act, a person who is found guilty of impersonation is liable to maximum imprisonment of seven years. END
