Kasese Magistrates Court sitting in Rukoki has fined a 19 year old man, Mr. Neckson Masereka two hundred Fifty thousand shillings after taking plea of killing a neighbor’s goat in Katumba Village, Bugoye Sub-County in Kasese District.
His worship Michael Kwesiga asked the suspect who pleaded guilty on the first mention yesterday to pay back the goat or stay behind bars.
Court heard that on 11th August, 2022 while in Katumba village in Bugoye Sub County the accused out of anger killed the goat on allegation of destroying his crop garden.
Mr. Neckson who apologized before Grade one magistrate told court he acted out of anger.
The same court also remanded 33 year old Patrick Mugisa until 6th September, 2022 over theft of maize seedlings in Kasese district.
Court heard that on 10th August, 2022 Mr. Patrick Mugisa was reportedly found in possession of stolen maize seeds but took plea of not guilty before court.
State prosecutor Counsel Oundo Godfrey asked court to give him serious punishment to act as an example in the community. END.
