    16 pupils at Nyambuko primary sch in Maliba Impregnated.

    Sixteen pupils at Nyambuko primary school in Maliba –Kyanya town council in Kasese district are reported pregnant during this COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, the district education officer Mr. George Mayinja has revealed.

    Officiating at the handover of a two stance pit-latrine at Bikone primary funded by the save the children Uganda, Mr. Mayinja, who said his office is investigating the matter, attributed the situation to poor parenting and failure to positively engage children.

    Mr. Mayinja who asked parents to save fees for their school going children as government pronounces herself on how and when to re-open the learning institutions called for good use of the facility that will partly protect the learners from diseases. Mr. Mayinja speaking……

    Earlier, the Kasese Municipal Mayor, His Worship Godfrey Kabyanga had said that he was writing a proposal for cabinet discussion about a possibility of establishing an independent contractor assigned to disilt the deadly rivers in Kasese, including Nyamwamba.

    The regional Manager, save the children, Mr. Samuel Mukirania had earlier called for urgent government intervention to neutralize the deadly rivers, recalling how it was a battle for the donors to give in a helping hand for the funds looking at the magnitude of the damage that would be repeated soon during the rainy season.     Over fifty million shillings has been spent to put up a two stance VIP latrines at St. Paul`s health center four, Kilembe health two and Bikone primary school. END
