Chief magistrate court sitting at Kasese has extended the bail for eleven local residents of Kigoro village in Rukoki Sub County in Kasese district on charges of malicious damage to property.
Court Presided over by the chief magistrate, Her Worship Betty Ajok heard that on 20th March 2020 while at Kigoro trading Centre, Mr. Sele Mukimbwa and ten others reportedly destroyed property including killing goats for Mr. Geoffrey Kikama Bwambale, the petitioner and GISO of Rukoki.
The accused are said to have led an angry mob that suspected that the petitioner killed his brother, the late Augustine Kikama Masereka; the case is before the High court.
The defense counsel Mr. Geoffrey Bigogo of Tayebwa and Sibendire Co. advocates said matter has been adjourned to 15th December 2023 in relation to his submission of no evidence to prove an essential element of the alleged offence. Counsel Bigogo speaking………

Nerveless Kikama, the Kasese district woman councilor representing Mbunga and Rukoki sub counties said after the death of Mr. Augustine Masereka on 20th February 2020 and the subsequent release of the prime suspect after tow day did not please many, culminating into the said property destruction that was followed by arrests of the eleven people.
