    11 Pakistani nationals detained over illegal stay in Uganda

    At least eleven Pakistani nationals have reportedly been arrested and detained by officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control.

    The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control officials said yesterday that the arrests were part of an ongoing operation against illegal immigration status.

    Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control said in a statement that their operations against illegal immigrants; and as legally mandated, arrested 11 Pakistani Nationals from Jumbo and Yuasa car bonds working without valid work permits.

    Immigration spokesperson Simon Peter Mundeyi urged all foreign nationals in the country to legalize their stay to avoid the consequences of being caught on the wrong side of the law. END
