Security operatives have reportedly arrested 10 suspects linked to theft of cattle from the State farm in Gomba District
Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga told a media briefing on Monday that arrest was made by the Flying Squad Unit in collaboration with territorial teams at Katonga Region and Gomba Central Police Station.
At least five cows went missing under suspicious circumstances on March 29 from the farm, leading to investigations by security operatives.
The suspects are all cattle dealers from various villages in the district.
Additionally, four other individuals, including a veterinary officer, a cattle dealer, a peasant, and a farm manager, had been arrested, further implicating the involvement of insiders in the cattle theft racket.
Enanga said commended the efforts of the Flying Squad Unit teams and territorial security in Gomba, reaffirming the police’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks involved in cattle theft. END
